A Video Tour of My Backyard Winter Garden -- Jan. 16 2013

The goal of having a winter garden is fresh eating and self-sufficiency.Winter gardening is the easiest gardening you'll every do. All you have to do is harvest -- no weeds, no bugs, not watering. Just eating!

Winter gardening is only possible with winter garden seed, the varieties used to feed the world for hundreds of years before the invention of hybrid seed and the modern grocery store. I grow and sell some of the rarest seed in the world, including winter garden seed that you can get nowhere else. You can find it here. No one spends more time and money working to save them from extinction than I do. Thank you for viewing my winter garden tour. Please take a moment to share it with your friends. And check out my new Backyard Winter Gardening book on the Amazon link to the right. -Caleb

  2. I am planning to purchase your winter gardening book when it comes out. I have already purchased your other books. I would love to have all 3 of them signed by you.

  3. I’m buying your winter gardening book! On another subject…I have the Natural Yeast book and am wondering how I can get the 3 “bonus recipes” on pages 146-148 as they are missing from the book.
Thanks for the great insights! :)

  4. I love your other 2 books and am excited for this one too. can you give any hints as to what material is on your coldframes or where you got it? I'd love to start working before I get busy in the spring. I know twin wall polycarb. panels are often used, but maybe you're using something else? Great work. Thanks!

  6. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Caleb, for sharing your experiences in book form. I can't tell you how many hours, days, weeks I've wasted researching various subjects on my own (mostly I've just come up against dead ends)- until I heard about "Forgotten Skills of Self Sufficiency" when it came out. I bought it right away and have greatly benefited from it. It got me all excited to try winter gardening LAST year and this year as well.

However, my winter garden could be doing a lot better than it is because I'm just trial-and-erroring all over the place and what has come up is still teeny tiny. SO! My question is this: Is it possible for you to release "Backyard Winter Gardening" in E-book form earlier than April 2013?

Just thought I'd check before I pre-order the paperback....

    Thanks! ---Marsha - Denver, CO
